How to make homemade granola in just 5 minutes
Hands up if you love crunchy homemade granola with yogurt or as a smoothie (bowl) topping 🙌🏼.
If you’re in a rush or you don’t feel like using the oven for the classic crunchy homemade granola recipe, here comes a super quick alternative for you. Can be made fresh in minutes and tastes so good. Try it!
Recipe
- Servings: 2-4
- Duration: 5 min
- Level: easy
Ingredients:
- 15g coconut oil
- 20 – 30g or more* syrup of choice (maple syrup, honey etc.)
- 100g oats
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 pinch of salt
- handful of nuts of choice (mixed nuts or almonds etc.)
- Other optional add-ins:
- coconut flakes, dried fruit, sesame seeds and more
Kitchen Tools:
- Antistick pan (if you’re living in Germany, check the German recipe for a discount code of the pan I used)
- Wooden spoon
- container (to store)
Directions:
- Heat pan over medium heat. (Be sure to use a medium temperature cause the oats can burn quickly).
- Add oil to pan and then add syrup and stir.
- Add oats, nuts, more add-ins and salt & cinnamon.
- Mix everything together with a wooden spoon for a few minutes.
And that’s it! Your crunchy homemade granola is ready – if you like, you can use it right away or let it cool down and it will be even crunchier. You can watch the homemade granola recipe video here. Enjoy!
Additional info & variations
Servings
The given amount is enough for 2 large servings or for 4 small servings, for example in a yogurt bowl with fruit.
Sweetness
*The indicated amount of 20-30g can be flexibly adjusted to your taste. If you like it rather sweet, then you can use more maple syrup or syrup of choice. I personally use rather less of it, because I eat it mostly in combination with fruit, which also brings a natural sweetness.
Oil
You are also flexible in your choice of oil. I often alternate between coconut oil and olive oil. Yes, you read that right. I love to use olive oil in sweet recipes, I think it’s a great fit.
Variations
This super quick homemade granola recipe allows you to decide what you’re in the mood for every morning. I can’t even count how many times I’ve made it – often just as a mini portion with about 30g of oats. You are completely free to choose the add-ins. But my recommendation is to use only ingredients that taste better in combination with heat and if not, to add them completely unprocessed at the end – e.g. chia seeds. This also applies to nuts, I love roasted nuts, but you can also add only half to the pan and the rest unprocessed at the end. Because as you know, the less processed the better.
Storage
If you have some left over: cool completely and transfer to a sealable jar. Up to 7 days it still tastes super fresh.
I hope you give this recipe a try, have a great day!
